Through the Eyes of Wildlife Tracker: Phil Johnston
February 10 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Phil Johnston, professional wildlife tracker, mountain lion researcher, and environmental scientist with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, brings his tracking expertise to the Eastern Sierra!
With years of experience interpreting the subtle signs animals leave behind, Phil has studied mountain lions, Sierra Nevada bighorn sheep, and many other species across California’s diverse landscapes. His work reveals how skilled observation and tracking can uncover the hidden lives of wildlife and deepen our understanding of the natural world.
Join us for an engaging evening as Phil shares stories from the field, lessons in the art and science of tracking, and insights into the connections between animals, landscapes, and the people who follow their trails.
The event will be held at C5 Studios Community Arts Center, 210 S. Warren Street in Bishop. A suggested donation of $10–20 supports both Eastern Sierra Land Trust and C5 Studios. No advance registration required.
