Join Eastern Sierra Land Trust for an enlightening pollinator garden workshop learning from local experts to design, redesign, or improve your pollinator garden with best practices, techniques, and insight.

Location: Bishop City Hall- Council Chambers. Entrance on Church Street. Please park in Church Street Parking Lot.

9:00- 9:10 Introduction to Pollinator Workshop with Gena Wood- Eastern Sierra Land Trust
9:10 – 9:40 Design For Wildlife Learn how to design or redesign your pollinator garden with wildlife in mind. Presented by Pete Pumphrey
9:40 -10:10 Science in your Backyard Learn how to observe and record the plants and insects in your yard, while contributing to science. Presented by Richard Rachman- Volunteer with California Native Plant Society and Xerces Society.
10:10-10:20 Short Break
10:20 -10:50 Healthy Soils for Healthy Plants Learn more about your garden’s foundation, how soil supports the entire foodweb, and how you can improve your garden’s soil. Presented by Julie Fontaine- Habitat Restoration Specialist.
10:50 – 11:20 Design for Fire Learn how you can improve your garden and home’s risk of fire with these fire-wise gardening tips. Presented by Roberta Lagomarsini- UC Master Gardeners of Inyo and Mono Counties.
11:20 -11:30 Short Break
11:30 -12:00 Planting with Native Plants Learn best practices for including native plants in your garden and learn more about the ones you might want to incorporate into your garden. Presented by Katie Quinlan- California Native Plant Society, Bristlecone Chapter.
