DESCRIPTION:Beth Pratt is a world-renowned conservationist. She currently is the Regional Executive Director of the  of the National Wildlife Federation. She previously worked on sustainability and climate change programs for Xanterra Parks & Resorts in Yellowstone as its Director of Environmental Affairs. Prior to her role in Yellowstone\, for nine years Beth served as the Vice President/CFO for the non-profit Yosemite Association (now Yosemite Conservancy) in Yosemite National Park. \nShe will be joined by the Eastern Sierra Wildlife Stewardship Team\, a collective of individuals representing the CA Dept of Fish & Wildlife\, the Calfornia Department of Transportation (District 9)\, Eastern Sierra Land Trust\, Eastern Sierra Interpretive Association (ESIA)\, and the Mono County Board of Supervisors. \nThis amazing group of speakers will start with a 30-40 minute presentation by Beth Pratt on her work and wildlife crossing projects in California. Next\, the Eastern Sierra Wildlife Stewardship Team will discuss the 395 Wildlife Crossing project and fundraising needs for this project to help wildlife safely cross the highway. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A segment where audience members have the opportunity to ask questions on the project\, or of Beth Pratt and her work. .

SUMMARY:Garden Restoration Volunteer Day!
DESCRIPTION:A handful of helpful volunteers are needed to join Gabrielle and Kay to prepare the ESLT native plant and pollinator demonstration garden for spring. We will work together towards clearing invasive plants\, weeding\, and trimming; ultimately preparing for the planting of more native species\, and some of Bishop Elementary’s 3rd grade students’ sunflowers for the Sunflower Garden Project! \nCome at 9:00am and enjoy some coffee and goodies with your gardening\, and stay until we plant our own sunflower seeds to watch grow as you pass by 250 N Fowler Street throughout the season! \n  \nThis event will be solely outdoors\, distanced\, and the wearing of masks is required. Please take the following precautions before and during your commitment to this volunteer day: \n\nStay home if have a cough\, fever or feel unwell\nTake temperature before leaving home; if it is significantly elevated\, stay home\nWash hands thoroughly with soap and water immediately before departing for ESLT event\nMaintain 6’ of distance from others\nSneeze or cough into a tissue\, cloth\, or elbow\nWear a face covering when around others\nAvoid physical contact\nProvide own personal face covering\, gloves\, hand sanitizer (no sharing)\n\n  \nPlease Bring: \n\nYour own gardening gloves\nAny preferred gardening tools (Gabrielle will also have tools available)\nFace mask/covering\n\n  \nFor more information and to sign up\, please contact Gabrielle\, Education Coordinator & AmeriCorps member.
