ESLT is thrilled to announce the permanent protection of Sinnamon Meadows, a stunning expanse of historic ranchland in northern Mono County. The 1,240-acre property’s working lands, extensive wetlands, natural springs, and vital animal habitat are now protected forever with an agricultural conservation easement held by ESLT. . .

Want to do more during your lunch break? Join Eastern Sierra Land Trust (ESLT) for its monthly Brown Bag Lunch Series. For each Brown Bag Lunch, ESLT invites local speakers to engage attendees in their field of study and share experiences from their career. This free event is held in ESLT’s garden from 12-1pm on the first Wednesday of every month between May and October. Kick off the growing season with Eastern Sierra Land Trust (ESLT)! February 18, 2014 - Senate Praised for Approving Farm Bill Funding to Help Save Working Farm and Ranch Lands in California’s Eastern Sierra

Eastern Sierra Land Trust praised the U.S. Senate today for approving a Farm Bill conference report that will provide more than $1 billion for a new consolidated conservation program to save working farm and ranch lands in the Eastern Sierra - and throughout the United States - over the next ten years. The U.S. House of Representatives approved the bill on Jan. 29, and on Feb. 7 President Obama signed it into law. “This funding is a great investment for future generations of farmers and ranchers on the Eastside, our local residents, and all Americans . . .

January 14, 2014 - Gift to Eastern Sierra Land Trust Preserves Historic Property

In the final days of 2013, Eastern Sierra Land Trust (ESLT) received a generous gift of an important conservation property located in the hills south of Bridgeport. This 40-acre parcel, which includes a length of Green Creek, was gifted to ESLT by the David and Elva Sinai Foundation Inc. of Reno, Nevada. By partnering with ESLT, the trustees of this family foundation have ensured that this special place will remain as open space forever.
